OMIAH Pursuits
Commercial Project & Contract Research
Finding a project notice is only one part of deciding whether to pursue work. OMIAH Pursuits investigates the opportunity in the context of your company's capabilities, timing and route to the buyer.
Look beyond the announcement
An opening may appear in a public procurement notice, an announced expansion, a facility renovation, or a prime contractor's need for specialist support. A public announcement does not establish that a buyer is accepting proposals. The brief should explain the actual stage of the project and what still needs confirmation.
Assess the requirements and the route to work
For a published solicitation, the important questions include scope, eligibility, submission requirements, deadlines, required qualifications, and the purchasing process. For an earlier-stage or private project, research may instead identify the organization responsible, likely decision-maker roles and a legitimate first approach. Unknowns stay visible.
Connect the project to delivery capability
The relevant comparison is between what the project requires and what your business can credibly deliver. Consider comparable work, equipment, staffing, geography, installation requirements, and whether another company would be needed. A promising project can still be unsuitable if the delivery commitment exceeds available capacity.
Support a pursuit decision
A Pursuit Package can organize the project evidence, explain the potential fit, identify the people who matter and outline possible next actions. It gives leadership a basis for a bid/no-bid or explore/decline decision. It does not guarantee an award or replace the buyer's procurement instructions, required professional advice or your own delivery assessment.
Examples of relevant businesses
Specialty contractors, signage and wayfinding firms, fabrication shops, marine businesses, technical installers, environmental service firms and equipment suppliers may all encounter project opportunities. The industry alone does not determine fit. The research question is whether this particular business has a plausible role in this particular project.
