OMIAH Pursuits
Growth Partnerships & New-Market Research
Some established operators see an opening they have not had the time or people to develop. OMIAH can investigate that opening and, for selected businesses, work alongside the operator to test it.
Define one commercial hypothesis
A useful starting point is specific: a new customer segment could need an existing capability; a distributor could open a route to buyers; a complementary company could help deliver larger work. Research should identify why the hypothesis is plausible and what evidence would strengthen or weaken it.
Investigate before committing
New-market research can examine likely buyers, existing providers, procurement practices, delivery requirements and routes to a first conversation. Partnership research considers the other company's capabilities and potential mutual benefit. A proposed match remains a hypothesis until the companies confirm interest and the working arrangement.
Test with a baseline and a defined period
Where there is alignment, a growth partnership starts with one opening and a bounded test. The operator and OMIAH agree privately on scope, responsibilities, the baseline and the measure of progress. A meaningful test should distinguish activity from a commercial result and provide a reason to continue, revise or stop.
Work alongside the existing team
The established operator continues running the business. OMIAH focuses on the defined commercial opportunity. Depending on the agreed scope, that may involve research, a route to customers, partner development or a focused experiment. Further work depends on the results and a separate agreement about responsibilities.
When to start a conversation
This can suit a company with real customers, an established team and the capacity to deliver something new. Tell OMIAH what you already do well, what opening keeps getting pushed aside and what constraints would shape a test. Research may show that the opportunity needs more verification or is not worth developing.
